Online software computer retailer software.net, San Jose, CA, announced this month that it was filing a registration statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission for an initial public offering of common stock. The number or price of shares have not yet been decided. The registration statement is not yet effective, meaning that these securities cannot be sold and offers to buy them cannot be made.
