What better way to celebrate social media than with copious amounts of tweets and posts?

The Web gathered in digital celebration as it observed the sixth annual Social Media Day yesterday.

Launched and hosted by Mashable in 2010, the official #SMDay festivities take place around the world, and feature events and meetups where social media enthusiasts gather to discuss and celebrate another year of social media memories and relationships. Of course, observance of the unofficial holiday weren't constrained to physical events. Users took to Twitter, and other social networks to exclaim their love for all things social media, with several brands joining in as well.
