Social marketing budgets will double during the next five years, according to digital asset management software WebDAM.  So without a doubt, the recent folding of social media marketing agency Attention into advertising behemoth KBS+ speaks volumes to the ongoing move towards social for marketers.  Arguably, social media has changed most aspects of marketing—from how companies contact customers and craft campaigns to the channels which consumers use to provide feedback.

“We invent campaigns across the entire [customer] journey for clients,” said Lori Senecal, chairman and CEO for KBS+ in the company's official press release. “This journey is increasingly influenced by social behavior—how consumers share and socialize.”  The addition of Attention, Senecal said, will enable to the ad agency to interpret unstructured social data and use that information to launch campaigns around purchase intent and brand consideration.

Expanding the social footprint of KBS+ may prove effective as social marketers continue to create new strategies that inspire and collect ideas from consumers, garner customer feedback, and connect and engage audiences.

Curtis Hougland, founder and CEO of Attention, will continue to lead the social media marketing agency.
