McDonald's runs Olympic-themed McNuggets sweepstakes

McDonald's launched an Olympic-themed sweepstakes on February 12, promoting Chicken McNuggets by giving consumers a chance to win tickets to future games.

The “How do you McNugget?” campaign, which runs through February 19, asks consumers to visit a microsite and take a quiz for the chance to win tickets to the London 2012 Summer Olympic Games. The quiz asks consumers to guess how Olympics athletes eat their McNuggets.

To enter the quiz, consumers must provide personal data, including their birthday, e-mail address, phone number and mailing address.

The site also encourages consumers to follow the #HowDoYouMcNugget? hashtag on Twitter for hints.

A McDonald's spokesperson did not immediately return calls to say if the data will be used for remarketing.

The sweepstakes supports the debut of Sweet Chili Sauce for McNuggets, an Asian-inspired flavor available for a limited time.

There will be in-store events and promotions in addition to the online component. Olympians Dwight Howard of the Orlando Magic and boxing gold medalist Oscar De La Hoya will make surprise visits to McDonald's restaurants in Dallas, Chicago and Los Angeles.
