Sitel Wins Contract With New Zealand Energy Company

Teleservices firm Sitel Corp. signed a four-year contract yesterday to provide customer care services for Genesis Power, a state-owned energy provider in New Zealand.


Baltimore-based Sitel will operate a customer contact center in Hamilton, New Zealand, for Genesis Power. It also will provide billing and financial functions, such as credit control and debtor management, in addition to customer service.


Communications will be performed by e-mail, phone, fax and traditional mail. Sitel also will use interactive voice response for customer contact.


Further details about the contract were not disclosed.


Sitel has 72 contact centers in 19 countries. It employs 500 workers in New Zealand, where it has operated since 1998.
