Sitel Expands Contract With Spanish Broadband Provider

Teleservices agency Sitel has entered into a multi-year contract to expand the customer services it provides to Jazztel, a provider of broadband Internet services in Spain and Portugal, Sitel said yesterday.

Sitel will take over part of Jazztel's customer service and call center facility in Alcobendas, Spain, near Madrid. Sitel will manage about 160 workstations, including some from the Sitel contact center in San Fernando, Spain, that previously worked on the Jazztel account.

Sitel said it would sublet much of the Alcobendas facility. The agency will provide inbound and outbound customer contact services by telephone, fax, mail and e-mail.

Further details, including financial arrangements, were not disclosed. Sitel has been under contract with Jazztel since 1999. The company's duties previously were restricted to customer acquisition and support.
