Sitel Call Center in Panama Will Serve Columbia House

Sitel Corp. will use its call center in Panama City, Panama, to provide English-language inbound communications support to Columbia House customers as part of a three-year customer service contract, the teleservices provider said yesterday.


Financial details were not disclosed. Sitel will devote about 150 workstations to providing customer care for Columbia House customers.


Agents will serve Columbia House's North American customers and mainly provide overflow call handling and mail processing. Columbia House, a direct marketer of DVDs, videos and music, has 11 million consumers registered for its membership clubs in the United States and Canada.


Sitel, Baltimore, operates call centers in 22 countries and offers services in 25 languages and dialects, the company said.
