Siebel Releases Retail CRM Application

Business applications provider Siebel Systems Inc. introduced a customer-relationship management application last week geared toward the retail industry, a first for the company.

Siebel said it worked with Marks & Spencer, CompUSA and Home Shopping Network to develop the new application, Siebel eRetail 7, which was built on Siebel's existing Siebel 7 platform.

Siebel eRetail 7 is designed to let retailers create multi-channel marketing campaigns and can provide measurable results in real time. The system also has a customer-service application and an employee portal that provides performance management, along with online help desk, online learning, and company news.

NCR and Blue Martin also provide CRM systems for retailers.
