Shutter Maker Opens Business to SFGT

Timberlane Woodcrafters Inc., a small business making reproductions of historic exterior and interior shutters, named SFGT, Philadelphia, as its first agency of record.

The shop competed with more than a dozen rivals, including Baecke Advertising, Ardmore, PA, and The Weightman Group, Philadelphia. The account previously was handled in-house.

SFGT is responsible for consumer and business-to-business advertising, mail, Web site development and collateral.

Privately held, Timberlane sells direct to consumers from North Wales, a Philadelphia suburb. Its shutters, copies of Early American period woodwork, sell for $250 to $500 a pair.

SFGT reported 2002 billings of $21 million from clients like AstraZeneca, Johnson & Johnson's Tylenol, Coca-Cola Co., SEI Investments, Gap Consulting, Point Roll and the University of Pennsylvania Health System.
