Shopko to launch e-commerce Web site

General merchandise retailers Shopko Stores Operating Co. LLC will launch its first e-commerce Web site with the help of e-commerce services provider SpeedFC Inc.

Shopko, which is owned by private investment firm Sun Capital Partners Inc., is a $2 billion retailer with stores located in 13 states throughout the Midwest, Mountain and Pacific Northwest regions. It operates 136 Shopko stores providing name-brand merchandise, pharmacy and optical services as well as 6 Shopko Express Rx drugstores.

The deal with SpeedFC covers end-to-end e-commerce services including Web development, Web hosting, fulfillment and call center services. SpeedFC has over 850,000 square feet of distribution space from which it will ship items for Shopko.
