Shop2u.com Adds Nonprofit, Catalogs to Roster

TORONTO -- Internet start-up Shop2u.com, Fairfax, VA, said at the DMA's annual fall conference here that it had signed on another nonprofit as well as several catalogs, which will take part in its nonprofit-related electronic catalog program in time for the holiday shopping season.


Shop2u.com e-mails catalogs to shoppers and past and prospective donors of nonprofits. A percentage of the purchase made by consumers is then donated to the participating nonprofit. This past month it e-mailed 1.5 million electronic catalogs to consumers.


It new partnership with Prevent Child Abuse America, Chicago, formerly the National Committee to Prevent Child Abuse, will involve building the organization's e-mail file and assisting in the development of an e-mail communication program starting next year.


The catalogs that have joined Shop2u.com include Travel Tools; Duncraft; Sportif USA; Back to Basics Toys; numerous titles from Foster & Gallagher, including Learn and Play; and several titles from Hanover Direct, including Improvements.
