Sher Leaves KnowledgeBase for New Venture

Bob Sher, a 30-year veteran of the information marketing arena, said last week that he has stepped down as CEO at KnowledgeBase Marketing Inc., Chapel Hill, NC, to launch a new business, RK Sher & Associates, Highland Park, IL.


"It was time to move on," said Sher, who plans to assist companies in designing databases, developing privacy guidelines and evaluating technology. "There's so much information available to data users -- and in many cases they're not sure which is the right choice and how to use it appropriately within privacy guidelines. There's a need to help companies leverage the information they have available without getting in trouble with the data cops."


Sher, who helped form KnowledgeBase last year, also has served as president of Donnelley Marketing Inc., president of May & Speh Direct and executive vice president of Metromail Corp. Tim Toben , founding partner of Customer Management Services, Chapel Hill, NC, has been appointed CEO of KnowledgeBase.
