Sharper Image's Direct Sales Rise 28 Percent

Sharper Image Corp.'s revenue increased 20 percent for the fiscal third quarter ended Oct. 31, the San Francisco company said yesterday.


The multichannel marketer's revenue for the period totaled $153.6 million compared with $128.1 million in 2003. Same-store sales in the quarter dipped 1 percent.


Total catalog and direct marketing sales, including wholesale, totaled $48.8 million, up 28 percent from last year. Internet sales increased 24 percent to $21 million.


Year to date, total revenue rose 24 percent to $459 million. Same-store sales increased 3 percent in the period. Catalog and DM sales rose 32 percent to $132.9 million, and Internet sales increased 32 percent to $67.7 million.
