Sharper Image to Expand Presence in Japan
Sharper Image Corp. will expand its presence in Japan under an agreement with Mitsui & Co. Ltd., the San Francisco-based specialty retailer reported last week.Mitsui will be Sharper Image's brand licensee and distributor for the Japanese market. Mitsui will have exclusive rights to distribute Sharper Image brand products in Japan through specialty retailers, department stores, mail order, the Internet and television shopping programs.
Sharper Image and Mitsui also will form a partnership to develop Sharper Image products unique to the Japanese market.
Mitsui has been Sharper Image's wholesale partner in Japan for two years and is the operator of QVC Japan.
