Sharper Image Sales Brighten

Sharper Image Corp., San Francisco, said yesterday that sales rose 37 percent to $41.1 million in the second month of its fiscal year, which ended March 31, compared with the same period last year.


Store sales climbed 33 percent to $23.3 million, and comparable-store sales increased 20 percent. Catalog sales skyrocketed 42 percent to $12.2 million from last March, and Internet sales increased 42 percent to $5.7 million.


Sales for the first two months of the fiscal year improved 35 percent to $77.2 million from the same period last year. Store sales increased 36 percent to $43.8 million, and comparable-store sales rose 22 percent. Catalog sales were up 32 percent to $22.7 million while Internet sales rose 41 percent to $10.7 million from last year's $7.6 million.
