Sharper Image Opens European Web Sites
The Sharper Image has opened e-commerce Web sites in Europe that will accept euros for the European Union and British pounds for the United Kingdom, the company said yesterday.International shoppers can access The Sharper Image UK and The Sharper Image Europe through sharperimage.com. Merchandise on the site will be adapted for local use and will be shipped from a central distribution center in the Netherlands.
"While this European business is expected to have a small impact on our overall sales in the near term, it's an important part of our long-range strategy of selling Sharper Image Design products globally," Richard Thalheimer, Sharper Image's chairman/CEO, said.
The Sharper Image, San Francisco, will continue its international Web expansion to other regions throughout the year.
