Sharethrough, a provider of solutions that distribute and measure video advertising campaigns, launched on June 1 Sharethrough.tv, a free public search engine site designed to connect creative agencies directly to a number of branded videos, said Sharethrough's VP of Communications Chris Schreiber.

Sharethrough.tv was designed to make accessible a library of video ads. Marketers developing video ad campaigns can use the search engine to find media that exemplifies their prospective project.

Additionally, production houses can use Sharethrough.tv as a mechanism to showcase work and be discovered by potential clients.

“We were getting so many emails asking us for recommendations to brands that we finally decided to just create a tool that anyone could use to discover videos for themselves,” Schreiber said.

Launch partners for the site include, but are not limited to, video advertising companies such as 72andSunny, EVB, Mekanism, Pereira & O'Dell and Seedwell. Sharethrough.tv allows users to narrow down their search in terms of video type, agencies, brands, and industry verticals. Videos hosted on Sharethrough.tv are not subject to a time limit, Schreiber added.

The development of Sharethrough.tv reflects an expansion in Sharethrough's core services, Schreiber said. Previously, the company primarily distributed media to video placement services, placing content on “blogs, game sites and social bookmarking sites, among others,” Schreiber said. As the company has grown, Schreiber noted: “we're seeing more and more interesting video content from small production houses with little brand awareness.”
