Service Offers Money-Back Guarantee for Search Engine Placement
The Internet Search Engine Positioning service features hands-on marketing consulting that is heavy on research and involves no software.
SCC, Schaumburg, IL, will meet with interested parties and pick 50 to 75 potential keywords for their businesses. SCC will research its databases to select the words that will give clients the most and best responses for their target audiences.
The company tests the words' effectiveness in popular search engines such as Yahoo, Lycos, WebCrawler, AltaVista, Northern Light, AOL, MSN and Google.
Once SCC has completed its research, another client meeting is held, the test results are reviewed, and 25 keywords are selected for placement.
"You don't want to use the most popular keywords because they won't be specific enough," said SCC president Alex Goldfayn, and they would not reach a marketer's target audience.
SCC will supply clients with biweekly reports that indicate where each keyword is placed on the search engines. If the client is unhappy with the traffic or the sales generated, it can discontinue the service at any point. But it will not get a refund unless SCC fails to achieve the top-20 placement guarantee.
The Internet Search Engine Positioning service costs $4,495 up front and as much as $1,995 per month thereafter.
Goldfayn said SCC is negotiating with numerous resellers that will likely offer a version of the service under their own brands. He said companies also can get the service from his firm directly, but "we may discontinue our direct side down the road and just [service] our channel partners."
The company also offers registration, administration and hosting of domain names as well as Web design and development.
