Sendmail Offers Domain Keys Software

Enterprise solutions firm Sendmail is offering hardware and software technology capability to corporations that want to implement Domain Keys Identified Mail authentication.

Sendmail and several other companies, including Yahoo, Cisco and AOL, have been working on DKIM standards for more than a year. The technology lets senders to cryptographically sign message headers, allowing e-mail recipients to securely verify message senders.

Corporate customers are testing Domain Keys for their internal mail systems, said Richard Kreysar, CEO of Sendmail, San Jose, CA, rather than marketers sending commercial e-mail to consumers.

"We see corporate America using this initially," he said. "We have the ability to secure inbound and outbound traffic within your company."
