SEM firm ICrossing acquires NewGate Internet

In order to improve its paid search and retail vertical capabilities, search marketing agency iCrossing has acquired NewGate Internet Inc.

Making search the preferred medium for marketers, reinforcing its San Francisco presence and improving its retail expertise in order to solidify itself as a leader in paid search motivated iCrossing, Scottsdale, AZ, to acquire NewGate, San Francisco.

"The board has challenged us to grow and we anticipate being able to continue to do so," said Don Scales, president and chief operating officer of iCrossing.

Mr. Scales is the former CEO of Agency.com. ICrossing recently welcomed former MySpace.com chairman Richard Rosenblatt as chairman.

By acquiring NewGate, iCrossing claims it broadened its client list and strengthened its presence in Silicon Valley. Retail focused, NewGate's clients include Gap Inc. and LEGO.

ICrossing has offices in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, New York and San Francisco.
