Scripps, RespondTV Sign Interactive TV Pact

Scripps Networks and RespondTV agreed yesterday to provide enhanced television capabilities that will allow viewers with set-top boxes to interact with programming and respond to e-commerce and direct response offers.

Three of Scripps' networks, Home & Garden Television, Food Network and Do It Yourself Network, will use RespondTV's infrastructure and enhanced television services, which range from hosting, serving and reporting to direct-response, e-commerce and targeted content campaigns.

Viewers with standard set-top boxes running software from Liberate, Microsoft TV or Power TV will be able to use the enhancements.

Scripps plans to begin providing the features this summer.
