Scitex, EFI Partner on Print Server
Scitex Digital Printing will partner with Electronics For Imaging to jointly develop a server targeted for the transactional document, data center and direct mail markets where variable-data printing has become critical, the two companies said Oct. 3.The color server will be capable of driving Scitex's press at production speeds of 500 feet or 2,000 color pages per minute, the companies said. EFI will provide an intuitive user interface, open standard variable data technology and color management and workflow productivity tools for the server.
The custom Fiery-branded server is slated for release in late 2003, the companies said. Scitex, Boston, is a provider of ultra-high-speed digital printing technology. EFI, Foster City, CA, provides imaging technology for network printing.
