SAS Expands Miner Software

Software vendor SAS Institute, Cary, NC, recently released its Enterprise Miner software, which can run on the Sun Microsystems' Solaris platform. Later this year, it will extend the availability of Enterprise Miner to other versions of UNIX, as well as Hewlett Packard's HP-UX, IBM's AIX and Compaq's Digital UNIX.

Allowing Enterprise Miner to run on these platforms will give virtually any company the opportunity to work with the software and, in turn, allow for an end-to-end data-mining solution. Enterprise Miner offers a data-mining environment for business decision makers and analysts, a range of client/server support, access to all common databases and integration. It also offers a range of algorithms in a single package -- decision trees, clustering, neural networks, data-mining regression and associations.
