SAS, Enterprise Miner
Software vendor SAS Institute, Cary, NC, said at the DMA fall show that its data-mining product Enterprise Miner is available on Compaq's Digital UNIX system, which runs on 64-bit Alpha processors, which can store many gigabytes of data. According to SAS, this marks the first implementation of the software into a 64-bit computing environment.The combination will offer users faster results when performing complex inquiries. It also provides a common environment for its primary users -- business analysts, quantitative professionals and information technology department professionals -- in one automated solution.
