SAS Acquires Data Cleansing Specialist

SAS Institute, Cary, NC, a Web-enabled data warehousing and decision support company, yesterday acquired the DataFlux Corp. last week.

DataFlux, Raleigh, NC, made a name for itself as a developer of data cleansing software tools designed to increase accuracy and usability of corporate databases. Its flagship product is its "Blue Fusion" data cleansing technology.

This acquisition was part of SAS Institute's larger goal to invest in complimentary technologies to accelerate its products to market. The addition of DataFlux extends the company's data warehousing capabilities.
