Sapient, Geezeo partner for financial social media products

Interactive marketing agency Sapient is partnering with Geezeo, an online banking firm, to create social media capabilities for financial institutions.

The companies' target market is small to midsize community and regional banks, as well as large credit unions and banks struggling to compete in the interactive marketing space, said Alex Sion, VP of digital strategy for financial services at Sapient.

Geezeo is a interactive software company, founded in 2006, that has built a database of 100,000 customers through opt-ins for its personal financial management service, Sion added.

“From a direct marketing perspective [the partnership] is about the 360-degree view of the customer that's so important in the context of CRM, but with the added social-community platform, which allows for powerful messaging,” he said.

Sion said the two companies are in late stages of acquiring new business, but do not yet have clients.
