Sandbox.com to Develop Games for CNNSI.com

CNN/Sports Illustrated Interactive yesterday made an undisclosed equity investment in online game network Sandbox.com, Reston, VA. Sandbox also signed a multiyear agreement to become the exclusive interactive game provider for CNNSI.com.


Sandbox will develop more than 30 co-branded fantasy sports and arcade games for the Web site in exchange for advertising and promotion on CNNSI.com, CNN Headline News and Sports Illustrated.


Sandbox hosts a number of fantasy sports and arcade games in which members earn points they can later exchange for merchandise. Cash and other prizes are also offered during contests.
