Salvatore Longo Takes Control of Northern Safety

Salvatore Longo, co-founder of Northern Safety Co. Inc., won a bid to purchase the direct marketing firm in an April 29 state court auction, the Frankfort, NY-based company reported yesterday.

Northern Safety markets safety and industrial supplies to 100,000 customers through catalogs and a Web site, northernsafety.com. The company recently developed its own line of safety and industrial products under the NS brand name.

Longo filed court documents in October to dissolve his partnership with Ronald Longo, citing management deadlock.

Following yesterday's announcement, Salvatore Longo said in a statement, "We plan to expand our business through additional product lines, increased circulation, telesales efforts, additional distribution centers and acquisitions."
