Ross-Simons' Suffers Data Breach

An external data breach occurred on jewelry and gifts multichannel retailer Ross-Simons' system this week resulting in unauthorized access to customer data.

Only consumers who applied for a Ross-Simons private label credit card might be impacted, the company said in a statement. The accessed data pertained to Ross-Simons private label account applications, including private label credit card numbers, expiration dates and other personal information.

Ross-Simons, Providence, RI, first reported the incident to the appropriate authorities and commercial partners on April 4.

According to the company, it has hired an external third-party to audit its security procedures.
