Roska, Bassett to Receive Special Caples Awards

Jon Roska, CEO and chief creative officer of Roska Direct, will receive the Andi Emerson Award at this year's John Caples International Awards. Steve Bassett, creative director of The Martin Agency, is the recipient of the 2004 Irving Wunderman Award.

Bassett has won several awards in his more than two decades of creative work, including The One Show, the New York Art Directors Club, Caples and Echos. He has been with The Martin Agency more than 10 years, where his account work has included Geico, Kellogg's, Mercedes-Benz, United Parcel Service, Tabasco and American Airlines.

Before The Martin Agency, Bassett spent time at McKinney + Silver, Chiat/Day and DDB. The Wunderman Award is presented to an individual who for a decade or more has combined talent, imagination, curiosity and human insight into a unique body of creative work.

Roska has been honored as Direct Marketer of the Year by the Philadelphia Direct Marketing Association and is a Gold Echo winner. The Emerson Award is named for the founder of the Caples Awards and created by the Direct Marketing Creative Guild. It is now presented to an individual for outstanding service to the DM creative community.

The 27th Annual John Caples International Awards will be handed out Feb. 24 at the Roosevelt Hotel in New York.
