Peter Rosenwald, a veteran U.S. global direct marketer, has retired as vice president for direct marketing of Abril, Brazil's largest publishing company. He will continue as a consultant to the company and will live in Sao Paulo.

Rosenwald said he would be available for consulting assignments in Europe, the United States and Latin America. In addition, he is developing a new tool for direct marketers.

"This is a computer program which helps direct and data-driven marketers do the economic planning for all DDM and CRM projects. It's called the Allowable Cost Per Order Model, and we plan to market the software for $600."

It should be ready for sale in March and will come with a guide.

Rosenwald moved to Brazil in 1997 after a long career in the United States and the United Kingdom, where he helped launched Wunderman, Cato and Johnson, and headed IDC before it was sold.

He can be reached at peter.rosenwald@abril.com.br and at +55 11 3037 5998.
