Robin Smith Honored by Women's DM Body

Robin B. Smith, chairman/CEO of magazine sweepstakes marketer Publishers Clearing House, has been given the prestigious "Woman of the Year Award" by Women in Direct Marketing International in recognition of her leadership qualities in the direct marketing industry.


The New York Chapter of Women in Direct Marketing International, an organization of nearly 350 women who hold senior positions in the direct marketing industry, will honor Smith in New York on Nov. 11. She joins a list whose previous honorees include Rose Harper, Lillian Vernon, Joan Throckmorton and Emily Soell.


All eligible candidates must have a minimum of 10 years in the direct marketing industry and boast a track record of mentoring other women in the field.


In her 18 years with Publishers Clearing House, Smith has found time to participate in direct marketing industry activities in various capacities. She is currently chairman of the Direct Marketing Association Committee on Privacy and trustee of the Direct Marketing Educational Foundation, among others.
