Ritz-Carlton adds rewards program

The latest hotel chain to roll out a rewards program is none other than luxury brand Ritz-Carlton, which is “responding to the sharp decline in rates consumers will pay for luxury hotels during economic hard times,” according to The Wall Street Journal.

Ritz-Carlton, a Marriott International brand, will offer members-only tours in locations such as China, Egypt and Turkey, personal shopping experiences, and photography workshops to participating customers.

However, USA Today points out that consumers will not be able to enlist in both the existing Marriott Rewards program and the new Ritz-Carlton rewards, although existing Marriott Rewards members can switch to the Ritz program.
