Reunion.com partners with StrongMail

Social networking site Reunion.com has teamed up with e-mail marketing services firm StrongMail Systems Inc. to move its e-mail communications from an in-house system.

Reunion.com, a social site with 35 million users and growing by about 1 million users a month, lets consumers create profiles to find old friends. It sends e-mails to alert its users that friends have joined and are searching for them. StrongMail will be powering these transactional e-mails, along with Reunion.com's e-mail newsletters. Reunion.com sends about 100 million messages a month.

“Our job is to reunite people with their old friends, and once they do get reunited, it is important for us to keep them connected, so e-mail is very important to us,” said Jeffrey Tinsley, founder and CEO of Reunion.com. “The members rely on getting these updates.”

The Reunion.com account win comes after StrongMail's recent announcement of a new North American Channel Program. The e-mail service provider will use this to grow its business through partners including IBM, the Enterprise Computing Solutions (ECS) segment of Arrow Electronics Inc., as well as through reseller partners, including Advanced Systems Group, S1 IT Solutions and Siwel Consulting.
