ReturnBuy to Sell Items on EBay

ReturnBuy, a provider of resale services, has partnered with online auction site eBay to add a major online distribution channel for its clients.

ReturnBuy, which announced the partnership yesterday, helps retailers, manufacturers and distributors sell returned or overstocked products. The service is an alternative to liquidation that garners three to five times more revenue in less time, according to the company.

"This brings quality merchandise to [eBay's] online community, and at the same time the consumers are getting a great deal because the merchandise generally sells for under retail price," said Kristi Snapp, director of marketing at ReturnBuy, Ashburn, VA.

The deal also allows ReturnBuy, which has about 15 clients, to reach an international audience, Snapp said.

San Jose, CA-based eBay made a minority investment in ReturnBuy's second round of funding in March.

"We are pleased to expand our relationship with ReturnBuy to increase the quality of merchandise in the eBay marketplace," said Jeff Jordan, senior vice president and general manager at eBay U.S. "ReturnBuy's innovative approach makes it possible for value-conscious eBay members to purchase virtually new, name-brand merchandise at bargain prices."
