Regulators Issue 'Boiler Room' Warning

California state securities regulators have warned would-be investors that the cold-call telemarketing tactics employed in the movie "Boiler Room" cost consumers hundreds of millions of dollars a year.


The Department of Corporations and other agencies are working with consumer groups to educate senior citizens about the difference between real investment houses and the "criminal enterprises" that "steal money by lying."
