RedEnvelope Pleased With Valentine's Fulfillment

Multichannel marketer RedEnvelope Inc. said yesterday that the performance of its Valentine's Day fulfillment operation was successful.


On the company's peak business day, it processed orders with a 99.9 percent accuracy rate. The measurement was based on its outbound quality-control sampling.


RedEnvelope let customers shop until 5 p.m. ET Feb. 13 in its Express Gifts Collection, with guaranteed Saturday delivery for Valentine's Day.


It also said that since the 2003 holiday season, the company has worked to improve the performance of its distribution center, with highlights including: expedited personalization processing time; improved product flow; and improved processing time.


The improvements allowed it to process at least 95 percent of orders within eight hours of receipt and to ship every order within 24 hours during the peak business days leading up to Valentine's Day.
