*Recognition Systems, SAP Form PartnershipORLANDO, FL -- Recognition Systems Inc., a provider of technologies for campaign management, said yesterday that it has formed a partnership with German inter-enterprise software giant SAP AG. The announcement was made at the NCDM conference here.
Recognition Systems' flagship product, Protagona, will provide marketing planning and campaign management functionality through SAP's customer relationship management solution, mySAP.com.
The companies also announced that German publishing concern Bertelsmann AG is planning to implement the integrated solution at its Doubleday Direct Inc. and Bertelsmann book club operations worldwide to provide enhanced customer service to 25 million members. Bertelsmann will use Protagona's customer segmentation analysis tools to enable up to 20 different catalogs to be shipped each year.
A spokesman for Recognition Systems, which is based in London and has its U.S. headquarters in Chicago, projected that the SAP relationship eventually could generate as much as 50 percent of Recognition Systems' total revenues. He said the move marks a shift into marketing segmentation and campaign management for SAP, which primarily focuses on providing back-end and front-office tools for large, multinational manufacturers.
