Reader's Digest to Partner on Prescription Plan

Reader's Digest Association Inc., Pleasantville, NY, Thursday announced a strategic partnership with Merck & Co.'s Merck-Medco Managed Care division, Los Angeles, to provide a savings plan for people who pay for prescription drugs out of their own pockets.


Dubbed YourxPlan, the program offers discounts on virtually all prescriptions obtained at more than 40,000 drugstores, with added discounts for orders placed online and through direct mail.


According to the agreement, Reader's Digest will provide marketing for the initiative, while Merck-Medco will handle product sourcing, fulfillment, customer service and clinical oversight.
