Reader's Digest Revenue Up, Profit Down

Reader's Digest Association Inc., Pleasantville, NY, reported revenue yesterday of $798 million for its second quarter of fiscal 2005, which ended Dec. 31, up from $796 million in the year-ago period.


Operating profit was $88 million, down from $114 million.


Revenue at its International Businesses division was up $31 million to $306 million. Consumer Business Services, its children's products division in the United States and Canada, fell $24 million to $250 million, and the Reader's Digest North America division was down $8 million to $252 million.
