Reader's Digest, AIG Expand Marketing Agreement

Reader's Digest Association Inc., Pleasantville, NY, yesterday said it expanded its agreement with American International Group Inc., New York, to allow AIG companies to market personal insurance products directly to Readers' Digest customers in the United States. RDA previously had an agreement to allow AIG companies to market insurance products to the Reader's Digest customer base in 26 counties outside the U.S. and Canada.

Under the terms of the agreement, AIG companies will contact Reader's Digest customers to offer the opportunity to buy auto insurance, homeowners insurance, personal liability insurance and home warranty products. The program will begin testing in the first half of the year, Reader's Digest said.

Last year RDA announced an agreement allowing a subsidiary of Torchmark Corp., Birmingham, AL, to market life and health insurance products to the RDA customer database in the U.S. and Canada.
