RadioWave.com Names Interep

RadioWave.com has named Interep Interactive to sell its inventory across the company's network of streaming audio sites.

Fresh from launching 40 branded channels of music for MSN Chat Radio, RadioWave, Chicago, has developed technology that allows ads to be inserted into live, streaming audio for targeting specific consumer segments.

Interep, New York, will sell RadioWave's iSpot inventory across MSN Chat Radio, Artistdirect Radio Network, Blue Note Records Radio, Astralwerks Radio, Alligator Records Radio, the Susquehanna Radio Corp. group and Rolling Stone Radio.

The iSpot combines a radio spot with an online banner ad. When the audio spot is airing, an icon will pop up in the player that will display the advertiser's logo. Once clicked, the ad takes the user directly to the pertinent page. The audio spot continues to play as the user searches that site.

"It takes the standard radio advertising and gives the ability to further product knowledge," said Bob Biernacki, senior director of interactive marketing at Interep.
