QVC hires Zimmerman for social media marketing

Television and e-commerce retailer QVC has tapped Zimmerman Advertising, an Omnicom agency focused on the retail space, to work on its interactive and social digital components.

The hire was effective mid-November. Its initial work is focused on engaging QVC's multimedia shopping community during the holiday shopping season.

QVC also hired Zimmerman to help it expand its existing social media presence and to tell the brand's story through communities on Facebook and Twitter. The goal is to build a community where customers respond to and interact with the brand through their personal social networking accounts, according to a statement from Zimmerman.

The agency said in a statement that since Zimmerman was hired a month ago, QVC's Facebook fan base has grown by 150%.
