*Quepasa.com Is Latest Dot-Com to Slash Staff

Online Hispanic community Quepasa.com yesterday reported that it had slashed two-thirds of its staff in order to conserve its remaining cash.

"We are committed to continuing to operate the Quepasa Web site," chief executive Gary L. Trujillo said.

All areas of the company will feel the cutback, which brings the number of staffers to 20 from 58.

Quepasa launched in 1998. It includes a search engine, free e-mail service, news feeds in Spanish, weather information, chat rooms, games, maps and message boards.
