Quebecor Service Times E-Mail With Print Delivery
Quebecor World's Logistics Group yesterday announced a service that lets companies time the sending of e-mail messages with the delivery of catalogs and other direct mail pieces.The ResponseBridge service uses the U.S. Postal Service's Planet Code system in which bar codes on catalogs or direct mail pieces are scanned as they move through the automated mail-processing flow. The USPS transmits this data to mailers and printers, generating a Web-based report indicating the mail's progress through the postal system in order to predict in-home delivery.
With ResponseBridge, mailers use this Planet Code information to send customized e-mail to the mailer's customers coordinated to the delivery of the mail piece.
To use the service, the mailer provides Quebecor a presorted file containing the names, postal addresses and e-mail addresses of the customers with a code to indicate which customers receive the e-mail. Web-based reports, including response data, are posted online for mailers.
