Quebecor Plant Approved for Co-Palletization Program

Quebecor World's catalog and targeted publication plant in Midland, MI, received authorization to join the U.S. Postal Service's new periodical co-palletization program, Quebecor said yesterday.

The facility is the second operated by Quebecor to enter the program. It involves combining magazine titles from multiple customers onto pallets to enter the mail deeper into the USPS system and take advantage of increased discounts.

Discounts range from 0.007 cents to 0.010 cents per piece, according to Quebecor. The Midland facility uses co-palletization for about 75 magazine titles.

Mailers qualify for the program with the USPS based on their ability to document mail pieces eligible for the co-palletization discount, Quebecor said.
