Quebecor buy builds premedia offerings

Quebecor World Inc. has acquired Colorscope, an interactive and print imaging services provider.

Quebecor also named Joseph Cha, CEO of Colorscope, as the president of Quebecor's Premedia Division.

Quebecor, Montreal, Canada, views premedia an important growth segment and tapped Mr. Cha to lead its efforts in this area because of his knowledge in new media, print production and strategic marketing, according to a statement from the company. Quebecor's goal is to provide customers with a complete, multichannel marketing solution.

In addition, the deal will provide Quebecor with a premedia presence on the West Coast, where Colorscope has offices in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle as well as new relationships in Asia.

Prior to his role as CEO at Colorscope, Mr. Cha led strategic planning initiatives at Yahoo Inc. and was the principal founder and CEO of XUMA Inc., an Internet application infrastructure and managed services provider.
