QuantumDirect Adds Fifth Xerox Press

Direct marketing services provider QuantumDirect Inc. installed a 110-page-per-minute Xerox iGen3 110 press, its fifth iGen3 press.

The company produces direct-mail pieces for the real estate industry through two Web sites at www.quantummail.com and www.quantumcopy.com.

Growing customer demand has generated an increase in print volume, requiring QuantumDirect to look for technologies that increase productivity without boosting the cost for clients, according to the Austin, TX, company.

QuantumDirect  has seen 70 percent growth in its overall business in each of the last two years. In 2005, its total print volume experienced a 68 percent growth rate.

QuantumDirect has printed more than 2 million pages a month on a single iGen3 machine.

Print runs range from 20 pieces to more than 100,000 pieces, and nearly all orders are placed over the Internet using the company's automated Web-to-print digital workflow technology. This allows the company to keep costs down while maximizing productivity.

In recent years, the company has expanded into new markets such as financial, manufacturing, franchising and home remodeling. In addition to postcards, it also prints brochures, fliers, catalogs and door hangers.
