Quad/Graphics Wins $1.1B Renewal From Time Inc.

Quad/Graphics renewed its longstanding relationship with publisher Time Inc. with a new $1.1 billion agreement for the continued production of 22 titles through year-end 2013, the printer said last week.


Titles covered are Time, Sports Illustrated, SI for Kids, People, Teen People, Entertainment Weekly, Fortune Small Business, Business 2.0, Cottage Living, Parenting, Baby Talk, Health, Food & Wine, Travel + Leisure, Travel + Leisure Family, Sunset, Field & Stream, Golf, Popular Science, Outdoor Life, Ski and Skiing, according to Quad/Graphics, Sussex, WI.


Quad/Graphics also was awarded the printing of additional copies of Time, Sports Illustrated and People, which will be produced from the printer's 2-year-old Oklahoma City plant beginning in January 2007. The company will expand its 2x8 web offset press and selective saddle stitching capabilities in Oklahoma City to accommodate the new work, creating about 80 jobs there.


Quad/Graphics' relationship with Time Inc. spans more than 20 years, as it also prints a portion of Life magazine and all of InStyle under separate agreements.


Last week, Quebecor World Inc. announced a $500 million multi-year print agreement with Time Inc. Quebecor World, Montreal, will print and bind 15 titles including weeklies such as Time, Sports Illustrated, People, Entertainment Weekly and Time for Kids as well as bimonthly title Fortune and other monthly titles including Money, Southern Living, Cooking Light, Coastal Living, Southern Accents and Progressive Farmer
