Quad/Graphics Streamlines Prepress File Sharing

Quad/Graphics is using an ExtremeZ-IP File Server to simplify file sharing between 50 Windows servers and 600 Mac desktops used by its prepress employees and customers, Group Logic said Aug. 28.

Quad/Graphics, Sussex, WI, is the largest privately held printer in North America. One of its goals is that its prepress files always be available to employees and customers. The cross-platform compatibility offered by Arlington, VA-based Group Logic's, www.grouplogic.com, ExtremeZ-IP allows Quad/Graphics to choose server and desktop platforms for its business and customers without having to worry about communication issues.

As a result, workflow is streamlined, and productivity and customer satisfaction is improved.

Quad/Graphics has clustered its prepress servers so that if one fails or is taken offline, users can access all of their files and applications on one of the other servers in the cluster.
